Batur volcano from everywhere, on one side of the volcano is a lake which is being slowly developed into a tourist spot, and on the other side lies the Mount Batur Temple complex with 5 temples on a peak facing the volcano. Bali is famous for coffee, and what is more famous is the Luwak Coffee, a small animal that eats coffee beans, and poops even better coffee beans, it is one of the most expensive coffees in Asia, and is a delicacy in its own right. There are at least ten different combinations of coffee to taste and experience apart from the Luwak coffee. A very informative tour, as everyone wants to know, from where their coffee came.
Post the Sacred Monkey Forest and lunch, head to the Goa Gajah caves. These are ancient caves with temples and waterfalls built inside them, extremely beautiful and mythic.
An offbeat spot on the way to North Bali, a short trek down the jungle slopes leading to a beautiful and serene tall waterfall with a big rock at the base, creating one of the best photo spots in Bali.
The most photographed spot in Bali is the Handara gate, technically a part of a Golf resort, there is a road in either direction with the gate walls rising on its sides, surrounded with lush greenery and changing topography.
Around 1300 hrs, reach the Beratan Temple. A place rich in history, a temple built on a manmade island on a lake hundreds of years ago. The whole structure is very beautiful, and offers ample photography and history learning opportunities. By 1800 hrs check-in to your hotel at Lovina beach, and relax the night.
Lovina is a lazy town filled with shops and roadside vendors offering goods and services at sometimes less than half the rate of Kuta or Ubud, it all depends on your bargaining prowess. Laze around on the serene beach, have some pizza, beer, and sheesha at the Kakatua restaurant, shop at the kilometre long beach side market, and simply chill and free your mind of all the stress. A perfect DIY on a perfect vacation.
Wake up early morning and head to the beach, from here we will take you to see large pods of dolphins swimming all around you, and if you are lucky, then taking that magic jump out of water. It is a 2-3 hours tour, and breakfast will be served at the hotel post the trip.
A hard to reach waterfall because it involves a 3km long trek downhill, and a greater effort for coming back, but worth every pound of effort, in season the falls turn brown due to muddy water, but are as refreshing as when the water is transparent. A tall and high spot in the middle of the jungle.
At 1100 hrs get ready to go jumping and sliding over waterfalls. You will cover 4 waterfalls, 3 of which have optional cliff jumps from 15, 25, 50 feet respectively, then there are two natural waterslides, with one being 25 feet and the other being about 10 feet. Post covering Kroya, Kembur, and Pucuk waterfalls, trek over to Aling Aling falls, and appreciate the natural beauty and sheer volume of water at the beautiful site with holy water. Return to hotel by 1400 hrs and relax the day away self-exploring.
Taman Ayun is a beautiful ancient garden temple famous for its picturesque scenery, and couple it with the Kedaton monkey forest next door and you get at least two things that Bali is famous for.
