A stupendously awesome beach on the eastern tip of Nusa Penida Island is Diamond Beach. This hidden beach is located at the bottom of a sheer cliff. Previously, till 2018 there were no stairs to reach this stunning beach but now it's super easy and can be reached within 10 minutes from the cliff. With white sand, blue waters and Palm trees it’s perfect for honeymooners.
Diamond beach lies right next to the famous beaches of Nusa Penida like Atuh Beach. It takes up to 1 hour from Toya Pakeh Harbour to reach here and the best way to reach is by a rental scooter, which will be easily available for 80,000 IDR to 100,000 IDR a day. But if you are not comfortable with riding a scooter it is advisable to book a tour through any travelling agencies like Tripadvisor or any which will cost you around 80 USD per person for the trip which includes everything.
Previously this beach was not easily accessible for all but after in 2018 stairs were made it got famous as an attractive tourist spot. But the sea waves are quite wild at this beach so it is advisable to keep in mind the current flow while enjoying there. Sadly you cannot have the fun of swimming there as the tides are so high it will be dangerous to do so.
Interestingly, this beach has two parts one is beautiful but not safe for swimming and the other is pretty and safe as well. Also, you will find some small caves in the second part which will be a cherry on the cake for the travellers. The beach is named after a gorgeous Diamond shaped rock in the shallows of the water. You will find turtles as well.
There are some places to have a taste of delicacies like mie goring and nasi goreng which serves some good drinks. The right time to visit this beach would be in day and in the month of March in spring and not in the rainy season of course. And for people, whose love to watch the sunrise the time should be around 5.30 am early morning which is a picture-perfect timing to be there.
Talking about the entrance fee so here is a piece of good news, the parking fee for the diamond beach and atuh beach would be the same which is 5000 IDR and for entrance in the Diamond beach a separate fee of 10,000 IDR per person would be charged in cash, so try to keep cash through the journey.
Must visit places near Diamond beach are Teletubbies Hill Nusa Penida, Broken Beach, Angel’s Billabong, Crystal Beach and Atuh Beach. Some hotels to stay near the beach includes Saka Boutique Hotel around 25km away from the Diamond Beach, Semabu Hills Hotel Nusa Penida and Coco Resort Penida which is 27 km away from the beach which is perfect for couples, solo travellers and families.
Diamond Beach is a pure picture-perfect place with a lot of greenery, white sand, Limestone rocks and lovely Blue Waters, but the waves are slightly dangerous. One should take care while having fun at this wonderful beach of Nusa Penida.
