Filled with rich culture, this city thoroughly reflects Karnataka’s deep past. The best time to visit Mysore is in the winter months lasting from October till February. Since it is known for its royal legacy and diverse history, it's mainly famous for silk, handicrafts, wildlife, buildings and important artefacts. Mysore was ruled by the Wodeyar kings and they exercised a foundation based on communal harmony and multiple religious backgrounds. The people of Mysore religiously celebrate their Hindu festivals. Their cuisine includes mostly rice with different types of Udupi gravies. There is always a delicious array of south-Indian meals that Mysore restaurants are known for.

To get to Mysore, you could travel by flight as there is an airport 12 km away from the city and you can find at least 4 flights per day travelling to and from Mysore. You can also travel by train as it’s highly convenient and well connected to all towns as a railway station is 2 km away from the city and journey is only 3 hours from Bangalore. Most of the tourists visit Bengaluru and then visit Mysore and they take the road which is a short fun road trip by bus, car or even bike. The most visited place is the Mysore Palace where the kings ruled at. The breathtaking palace was built between 1897 and 19122 and portrays the Indo-Saracenic style of the designs crafted on the building. The Golden Throne, The Ambavilasa (Darbar -e- Khas or Private Hall, the doll's pavilion etc. are the main highlights in the palace that dictate the lifestyles of the kings who ruled from there. The ‘Brindavan Gardens’ encloses beautiful botanical garden beds with fountains and other decorative commodities. In the evening, there is a harmonically synchronized fountain show with laser lights that flaunts the deluxe attractions of the city. There are a number of significant temples like Nimishambha temple, Chamundeswari temple and Sri Ranganathaswamy temple that tourists should visit as these temples were of great importance. Fun-loving tourists can also visit the famous Mysore Zoo and the Railway museum. Mysore embraces any number of visitors all year and every year to look at its royal grandeur.
